So after a very long journey, I finally arrived in Nürnberg, Germany. Because I wanted to bring lots of hula hoops with me (and they are quite large), I had to send these to Brussels as registered luggage. To ensure they arrived in Brussels before I did, and before my connecting trains to Germany, I went to London the day before my train to book them in. Meaning I had a very long wait at St Pancras Station in London, and no sleep before my train at 6am the following morning! Anyway that all worked out fine, I got the Eurostar to Brussels, Belgium. I then collected my hoops and got on the ICE train to Frankfurt, Germany, and then another ICE train to Nürnberg. Once I arrived at Nürnberg station I met Anne from www.poiandfriends.com and she took me to her and Sam's house, where I am currently staying. They are both very lovely and have been looking after me well :) The weather here has been lovely and sunny. I did some hula hooping in their garden just after I arrived, and Sam took a picture of me (below). The first evening I was here we played some table football, first at the house and then in a local pub where Sam goes to practice and play with other people. The next day I did some more hula hooping in the garden, and taught the kids who live next door some hula hoop moves. In the evening Anne and I went to the swimming baths to swim, slide on the water flumes, use the sauna's and the steam room. This was a great plan, very relaxing! Today Sam and I have been helping with preperations for a party tonight which is being held in the house and garden next door. Then Anne and I will be heading to Regensburg for the European Hoop Convention either tonight or tomorrow morning! Looking forward to that and meeting lots of hula hoopers :) |
